“While it's already a known fact that about 80% of home buyers begin their search on the Internet, there's still a large demand for originality among real estate Web sites. Virtual tours, mapping technology, and neighborhood guides seem like a step in the right direction, but agents are in need of a new differentiator. That said, agents who want to lead the pack have begun creating engaging videos to generate leads and ultimately close sales. Featuring qualities that can't be captured by still photos, these videos are the latest cost-efficient marketing tool.”

“Video is a key component to raise the bar, and a few years from now it will be expected. Many agents are receiving the majority of leads from the Internet, which is less work for them. The more tools that are provided for the buyer, the more properties will be moved in a shorter period of time.” – Thomas Pointer, AIS Media Inc.

Video Tours USED To Be Difficult...

Real estate agents sometimes complain that creating video tours are too difficult and complicated for the average agent to create. And they used to be.

There were many hurdles before - people didn't have high-speed internet, putting video on the web was difficult, web hosting was expensive, technical knowledge was required...etc.

But those were yesterday's concerns. Today everything has fallen perfectly in place to make video tours a reality for every agent in North America.

Before flash technology came on the scene videos were simply too large to put on common web pages. You needed a costly streaming video server and all viewers had to download a bulky player like QuickTime or Real Player to view the videos. And you needed a beefy web hosting account and a web geek that knew how to put it all together.

And forget about trying to get a video from a tape on your camcorder to your computer. This was just too much work for most people to even consider.

But even if you did get the video onto your computer somehow, you needed to have expensive video editing software and equipment to be able to produce the kind of quality tours that you want to put your name behind.

These were valid concerns, even up until a few months ago, but not today.

Agents can film the property themselves following a few simple steps, or, since most agents like yourself are busy doing what you do best, a popular alternative is to simply pass the PlaceTour Quick Start package onto a local high-school student and have them take care of it for you. The DVD explains it all to them - literally all YOU need to do is give them the Quick Start package we'll send you and they take care of it for you.

Creating a video tour today really is incredibly easy and affordable, and there is simply no reason to leave it out of your marketing arsenal. Especially since most users these days expect some multimedia content when they search.

You can be cutting edge without even knowing how the technology works – just follow the instructions and click your way to video listings. But let’s just keep this to ourselves, and keep letting our competitors think it’s too hard to do.
